Travel Tips To Bintan Resorts

How to get there From Singapore
There is a regular ferry service operated by Bintan Resorts Ferries that plies between Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal in Singapore and Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal in Bintan. The journey takes about 55 minutes. Please remember to check in at least an hour before the ferry departs.

From Indonesia

There are regular speedboat services plying between Telaga Punggur Ferry Terminal in Batam and Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal Bintan. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes. Special chartered boat arrangements can be made between Nongsa Ferry Terminal (Batam) and Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal (Bintan) as well. The price is about Hundred Thousand Rupiahs if am not wrong.

Weather

The dry calm season from late March to early November is characterized by clear sunny days and calm pristine waters. While from late November to early March is generally the windier season with passing showers, although one can still get good sun throughtout the day. If you have para sailing hobiest you can try to visit Bintan Agro Resort in windier season.


Time Zone

In relation to Jakarta, Bintan is in the same time zone as Jakarta, +7 hours to the
Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). In relation to Singapore, Bintan is 1 hour behind Singapore time.


Voltage Requirements

220 volts AC, and dont forget to bring standart electrical socket which have three pins (Line,Neutral,Grounding)

Language

Bahasa Indonesia is the national language and simple English is widely used. And Bahasa Melayu for local.

Currency

The main currency used in Indonesia is the Rupiah (Rp); however the Singapore Dollar (S$) is widely accepted at the resorts and Pasar Oleh Oleh. Most hotels accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit card payments. Should you be heading down south to the greater Bintan for some sightseeing and shopping, it is advisable to have ready notes and coins in Indonesian Rupiah (Rp).

Tipping

Tipping is not a necessity in Bintan, but it is acceptable to leave a small tip especially when good service has been rendered. There may be a 20% service and government charge on your bill in hotels and restaurants. You need not tip beyond the service charge.


Dress code

Daytime temperatures are generally high in this tropical region, which allows for plenty of unforgettable fun in the sun. Humidity levels are also high, so loose cotton and natural fibres are highly recommended.


Things to Bring
Don’t forget to take along your sunblocks, sunglasses, caps, and insect repellant.


Postal Services

The Resorts' hotels can arrange to send mail. Guest may purchase local postal stamps from the hotel,
and the hotel staff will send the mail from a local post office. Guest may also purchase Singapore stamps,
whereby the mail will be arranged to be posted from Singapore.

Environmental Control

Liquid waste is managed by sewerage treatment plants. Solid waste is collected daily from the resorts and
disposed off in our own sanitary land-fill site.


Telecommunications

Bintan Resorts has modern telecommunication facilities, including IDD, facsimile/data lines and card-operated payphones. Local calls can be made with phone cards.


Medical Care

Medical needs are catered for by a clinic, with doctors on call 24 hours throughout the day, and supported by a highly efficient emergency evacuation system.
